What is electional astrology?

Electional astrology is the oldest practical branch of the art: instead of asking what a moment means, you choose the moment on purpose. Kings timed coronations by it, merchants timed voyages, and couples timed weddings — the idea being that anything begun carries the sky of its beginning the way a person carries their birth chart.

How are the days scored?

Every day of your chosen month is scored two ways at once. The sky-wide layer reads that day's Moon — its sign, its phase, its distance from the New or Full Moon — plus any retrogrades weighted for your goal. The personal layer then checks that day's sky against YOUR natal chart: Venus or Jupiter blessing your Sun or Moon lifts a day, a heavy planet pressing them weighs it down, and the Moon crossing your own lights marks a personal power day.

Why is my best day different from someone else's?

Because half the score is yours alone. Two people asking about the same month and the same goal share the sky-wide weather — but the transits to their natal charts differ completely. The day Jupiter blesses your natal Sun, it may be squaring someone else's Moon. That is why generic "lucky day" lists fall flat: timing is personal.

What if my whole month looks heavy?

Some months simply carry more weather — a Mercury retrograde across its middle, a bruising Full Moon, a heavy transit parked on your chart. The finder still surfaces the three least-obstructed days, but if nothing shines, check the next month: the tool reads any month up to a year ahead, and skies always change.

Should I avoid Mercury retrograde entirely?

Not entirely — weighted, not banned. Mercury retrograde weighs hardest on signings, launches, and important conversations, so those goals score its days lower. But re-doing things — revising, reconciling, returning — actually suits a retrograde. The finder folds all of that into the scores rather than striking days off the calendar.
