    What is the gold on the wheel after the cards turn?

    In the Golden Dawn tradition, every tarot card belongs to a place in the sky: a zodiac sign, a ten-degree stretch of a sign, a planet, or an element. As your cross turns over, the zodiac wheel beneath the cards lights up the place of the Heart card, the card at the heart of the matter. The small crescent on that wheel marks where the Moon is tonight, drawn in tonight’s phase.
