A BaZi reader compares two whole charts, not just two animals. The heart of it is the two Day Masters, the element each of you is, and how they meet: one may feed the other, shape the other, or share its element. Next come the partnership palaces, the animal under each Day Master, which show what each of you needs up close. Then the familiar year animals, and finally what your five elements give each other.
It is the part everyone knows, and it is real, but it is one of eight characters in each chart. Two Rats can have very different Day Masters, and a classical clash between year animals can sit beside Day Masters that feed each other. That is why this tool reads both full charts and shows the year animals as one part of the picture.
Five pairs of Heavenly Stems form what the classics call a stem combination, wu he: Jia with Ji, Yi with Geng, Bing with Xin, Ding with Ren, and Wu with Gui. When your two Day Masters are one of these pairs, tradition reads it as a strong pull between two people, two forces that draw toward each other. It is a gift to use, not a guarantee.
No. A clash, whether between year animals or partnership palaces, describes friction in tempo and needs, the way one person wants to talk a problem through tonight while the other needs a day. Knowing where it sits helps you meet it. Plenty of lasting bonds hold a clash, and the Day Masters often matter more.
