The essence
Lilith's story begins with refusal. In a medieval Jewish text, the Alphabet of Ben Sira, she is Adam's first wife. She was made from the same earth he was, and so she was his equal. When he insisted she lie beneath him, she spoke the divine name and flew out of Eden. She chose the wilderness and the night over a paradise that required her to submit. Older Mesopotamian texts describe the lilitu, wind and night spirits that later writers folded into her legend. Her core teaching is autonomy at any cost: she would rather be called a demon than be domesticated.
The asteroid 1181 Lilith was discovered in 1927 and named for the French composer Lili Boulanger. It orbits in the main belt between Mars and Jupiter. In your chart, her placement shows where you bristle against control, where you may have been called difficult or too much, and where your self-possession lives in its raw, unpolished form. This isn't contrarianism. Lilith sees through manipulation and the way power can hide inside niceness. Where she sits, you hold a boundary that can't be negotiated away.
