A dominance channel is one that exists whole in one chart while the other chart activates neither of its gates. One partner transmits a defined, consistent energy; the other is completely open there and receives it, amplified, the way open regions always take in defined ones. Despite the name, nothing is being dominated. With no competing gate on the open side, this is the least contested meeting in the whole connection chart.
By itself, no. It is often the most nourishing theme in a connection. The open partner gets reliable access to an energy their own chart never generates, and the defined partner gets the rare experience of being fully received. It turns unhealthy only through unconscious absorption: the open partner amplifying the broadcast for so long that they mistake it for their own voice and lose their sense of self in that theme. The remedy is the classic open-center practice of sampling, savoring, and releasing rather than identifying. Awareness keeps the gift a gift.
Both begin the same way, with one chart holding a whole channel, but the other chart's side decides the theme.
