Planetary Lines
Every planet in your chart draws four lines around the Earth — one for each angle it can occupy. Knowing what each planet brings to a line is most of the craft of reading an astrocartography map.
How a line gets drawn
For each planet, the map marks every place on Earth where that planet sat exactly on an angle at your birth: rising on the Ascendant, culminating on the Midheaven, setting on the Descendant, or anti-culminating on the IC (see IC & Descendant lines). Ten planets, four angles: up to forty lines wrapping the globe. Near a line, that planet is angular for you — the strongest condition a planet can hold.
The luminaries and inner planets
Sun — vitality, visibility, becoming more yourself; a fine line for confidence, occasionally for sunburned ego. Moon — feeling, belonging, home-hunger; tender and deep, sometimes moody. Mercury — words, trade, learning; life speeds up and fills with conversation. Venus — love, beauty, ease; the classic line for romance and friendship, with a soft warning about indulgence. Mars — drive, courage, heat; superb for ambition and training, harder on patience and tempers.
The outer voices
Jupiter — expansion, luck's favourite costume, doors that open; the most-recommended line in the tradition. Saturn — structure, consequence, slow mastery; heavy to visit, formative to inhabit. Uranus — reinvention and electricity; liberating, rarely restful. Neptune — dream, art, dissolution; beautiful for retreat and imagination, blurry for paperwork. Pluto — depth and transformation; places that change you and don't apologise.
No line is simply good or bad — each is a strong dose of one planet. The free Best Place to Live tool weighs your whole map at once and names where the blend works in your favour.

Which planetary line is best to live on?
Tradition favours Jupiter and Venus lines for general happiness — but the honest answer depends on your chart and your season of life. A Saturn line can build a career; a Moon line can build a home. Best is the line that matches the life you're trying to grow.
What if two lines cross near my city?
Both planets speak at once, blended. A Venus–Jupiter neighbourhood is famously sweet; a Mars–Saturn one runs hot and strict. Crossings of two lines at the same latitude are also the basis of parans, a refinement some astrologers layer in.
What does it mean to have no lines near me?
A quieter map — no planet especially amplified by place. Many people live well between lines; your natal chart operates normally everywhere. Lines add emphasis, never permission.
Are outer-planet lines really that strong?
They tend to be felt more as atmosphere than event — Saturn's gravity, Neptune's fog, Pluto's undertow — and they matter most when the planet is already prominent natally. The map is always read through the chart.
