Relocation Astrology

the chart that moves with you

Relocation astrology asks a simple, ancient question: what would my chart look like if I had been born right here? The planets keep their places — but the houses and angles rebuild themselves around the new horizon.

What moves and what doesn't

Your birth moment is fixed forever — so in a relocated chart, every planet keeps its exact sign, degree, and every aspect it makes. What rebuilds is the frame: the Ascendant, Midheaven, and the twelve houses, which are all functions of the horizon, and the horizon is a property of place.

Relocate a chart from Detroit to Lisbon and a 12th-house natal Sun might stand proudly in the 10th. Nothing about you changed; what changed is which rooms of life the same planets occupy from the new vantage. That is the whole trick — and it is enough to make two cities feel like two different lives.

How it's used

Practitioners relocate charts for anywhere life is pointing: a job offer, a possible move, a long stay abroad. The relocated chart is read exactly like a natal chart — planets near the new angles come forward, the new house emphasis names what the place will keep asking about. A city that pulls Saturn onto the Ascendant will feel like discipline and consequence; one that lifts Venus to the Midheaven tends to warm the public life.

Astrocartography is this same operation performed for the entire planet at once — every place where some planet lands exactly on an angle, drawn as a line. The map finds candidates; the relocated chart interviews them.

Where to start

Start with the map: our free Best Place to Live tool reads your whole chart against the globe and names where it shines brightest. If a particular year is the question rather than a lifetime, the same location logic powers the solar return — where you are on your birthday sets the year's chart, a practice called birthday relocation.

Relocation Astrology FAQs

Does relocating change my zodiac signs?

Never. Sun, Moon, rising-sign degree, every planet's sign and aspect — all fixed at birth. A relocated chart changes only the angles and houses: the frame around the same picture.

Do I have to live somewhere for the relocated chart to apply?

Its themes are strongest while you're physically there, and they build with time spent. Short trips give you a taste; residence gives you the full weather.

Is my natal chart still valid after I move?

Completely. The natal chart remains the constitution wherever you live; the relocated chart describes how the place refracts it. Astrologers read both together.

Relocation astrology or astrocartography — which do I want?

They're one practice at two zoom levels. Use astrocartography's world map to discover where to look, then a relocated chart to study one city closely. Our tool does the map part free.
